Week Three Complete!

Week Three CompleteThe end of last week marks week three of my radiation treatments. Overall, another fairly uneventful few days. My eyes are both dry and watery at the same time. I had my usual check-in with Dr. Greenspoon on Friday, and he says the extra tearing is normal due to the effects of radiation on the tear ducts. In his words, my tear ducts are “angry”. No pain or discomfort really, just a little leaky!

Derek was able to get away on a guys weekend, canoeing in Algonquin. I’d say a well deserved rest, but probably not all that restful! Nonetheless enjoyed and I’m sure great to spend time with his friends in a beautiful location.

Derek and I had a few moments together upon his return last night, but we were back at it with an early trip to Juravinski this morning for my first treatment this week. We’re on the home stretch now with four more days to go. I’m back at the Hotel Alldritt for another week of pampering! Derek is back to Linwood after dropping me off, and will be nose to the grindstone with his consulting and home automation business.

Sounds like we get another short blast of summer tomorrow. Let’s enjoy it while we can! Have a great week everyone!

  6. Whew – I was worried about the radiation – knowing what another friend is going through with respect to that and burning – especially in the eyes! Let me know when you are all finished and up to it – it has been way too long and we need a glass of vino before you head back south! Deb x
